No. Your solar system is connected to your utility grid to provide electricity to your home. All excess electricity produced by your solar system will channel back to the grid causing your meter to go backward.

What is the maintenance on solar panels?

Good news! Solar panel maintenance is very minimal and easy to do. All solar panels require is a little dusting or watering off. Either use a leaf blower or a common garden hose to clean off your panels. If your panels are tilted, rain will do this work for you. Clean only during dry season or long periods without rain. Typically, recommended to clean 2-4 times a year. IMPORTANT NOTE, the solar panels are tempered glass so do not put cold water on a hot day or vise versa hot water on a cold day to prevent from glass break. Best times to clean are at night or early in the morning.
